Pakistan, the Auschwitz in making

In a street of Sialkot, an Ahmadiyya worship place (which according to the Constitution of Pakistan, can’t be called a mosque) and its adjoining house of Hakeem Hassam Uddin were demolished by the activists of Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah, some other religious organizations related to Khatm-e-Nabuwat  and the local residents. The house, that was being renovated, and its adjoining Baitul Mubarak have historical significance for Ahmadis. At first, local religious organizations got a stay order and sealed Ahmadis’ property. Not being satisfied at this action, they attacked Baitul Mubarak and Hakeem Hassam Uddin’s house. Baitul Mubarak was seriously damaged in this attack, and its dome and minarets were demolished.

Baitul Mubarak and Hakeem Hassam Uddin’s house are those places where, before proclamation of prophet-hood, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad stayed in the 1860s, and continued to visit after the announcement. He offered prayers in Baitul Mubarak. It should be remembered that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad lived in Sialkot from 1864 to 1868 due to his job. He was a clerk in a government department. In this way, this house and its adjoining worship place have sacred significance for Ahmadis. Its dome and minarets were built much before Zia’s Anti-Ahmadi Ordinance.

During the last two years, ‘Qadiani conspiracy card’ played by the establishment and the elected government by declaring each other Qadiani and pro-Qadiyani, is beginning to affect the common Ahmadis. Massive turmoil was raised on a minor change in election oath form. It was termed a tremendous ‘Qadiani conspiracy’. Nawaz Sharif and his associates were labeled as defectors of Khatam-e-Nabuwat. Consequently, shoe attacks on PML-N leaders and murderous attack on Ahsan Iqbal by Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah activists were witnessed.

The creation of Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah is tantamount to adding fuel to fire in this backdrop. Establishment has created this faction to axe N League’s Barelvi vote. This party of religious radicals is being used as a disruptive arm. It files cases of blasphemy against Christians on one hand, while on the other its activists are involved in hurling shoes on political leaders or shooting them under the sun. This faction has fully exploited enraged religious sentiments on the issue of finality of prophet-hood.

This situation will have very serious implications. Now religious sentiments will be provoked for political benefit. Each party and center of power will demonstrate that they are the biggest enemies of the Ahmadis. The next government will adopt high-sounding claim of love of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and assertion in finality of prophet-hood so that Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah should not call its faith to question. It means demands will come up to put more restrictions on Ahmadis and show religions identity publically. We know that this sadism towards minorities always results in an Auschwitz.
